A Sense of Community and Family
Blair Stewart's story is one of resilience and service. His family settled in Brea in 1982 when he was 11 years old. That same year, his mother, an immigrant of Japanese and Dutch descent raised Blair and his two brothers on her own, working local grocery store jobs to support the family.
After high school, Blair enlisted in the Marines, graduating boot camp as a top recruit and serving for eight years before joining the Torrance Fire Department in 2000. Over his 25-year career, he has served as a Hazardous Materials Firefighter, Fire Captain, and Certified Film Safety Officer.
Blair's dedication to service extends into local government. Elected to the Brea City Council in November 2022, he served as Mayor Pro Tem before becoming Mayor in 2025. He also serves on the City's Development Committee and the Wildlife Corridor Conservation Authority, and represents Orange County as 1st Vice President of the League of California Cities continuing a lifelong commitment to the community he has called home since childhood.
Blair remains deeply rooted in Brea, the city that raised him. His life reflects a steady thread of public service, from the fire station to the council chamber, driven by a genuine commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the community he calls home.
